Recent operatic engagements are The Star Bar for City Chamber Orchestra of Hong Kong in Hong Kong, Figaro (Barber), Guglielmo at Chiswick House, London, El Dan Cairo and Morales with Slaithwaite Philharmonic in Huddersfield Town Hall. Forthcoming Engagements include Dr. Falke in Die Fledermaus, Doctor and Marquis in La Traviata at Chiswick House, London.
Over the last 50+ years Laurie has acted in over 100 stage plays, playing roles ranging from Tony in Sandy Wilson’s ‘Boyfriend’ to Prospero in Shakespeare’s ‘Tempest’ in a National Trust open air production. He has directed about 15 plays from Chekov to farce, has designed, built and lit more stage sets than he can remember and has written, produced and performed in more than a dozen murder mysteries. He is currently Chairman of HIADS Ltd and a Trustee of the Station Theatre, Hayling Island.
